Welcome to Missourians for Monarchs.

This partnership of Missouri Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners was born early in 2015 by members of the Confluence Chapter of Master Naturalists.

We quickly learned that many of the state's 51 Master Gardener chapters and 12 Master Naturalist chapters already have active monarch monitoring and milkweed/nectar plant habitat programs--a great thing.

Working together has many benefits, including:

Sharing best practices
Ability to tackle large projects
Shared educational outreach resources
Economies of scale for seed production
Promote pollinator-friendly state policies and practices
Ensuring statewide availability of habitat for monarchs

We hope to attract individuals and other organizations interested in monarchs to this effort, and will do our best to post helpful, educational materials to this blog.
